Death of a Loved one

Death of a loved one leaves you hollow
creates a void that stays there till thr end of the times
you try and fill that void with cries and tears
wailings and wimpers
sorrows and griefs
loneliness and despair

After seeing death from such close quarters you stop reacting to it the way you did the first time
you let it consume you
you let it undo your efforts
efforts that you had put in the last time
and bring your soul inside out
making you naked, vulnerable and weak

the moment you receive the news
a part of your soul flies out in the open with no power of yours to hold it or catch it back
the lightness that you feel in the chest
realizing that a near one has been freed of his pain and agony
your limbs grow heavy
like a bag full of cotton drenched in sea water
tears wash your face lightening you of that burden
but when you fail to cry
the heaviness prevents you from walking, holding yourself tight
it doesn't let you move
You stand there numb and heavy
carrying the weight of the dead
and haunted by the ghost from the past!
