Only If You'd Seen

Only if you'd seen
The glint in her eyes,
When she is to some mischief.
The sullen face,
When she loses her book.
The glow on her face,
When she sees food.

Only if you'd seen
The hardwork,
She had put in to succeed.
The way she had pulled out her hair,
Just before her exam.
The way she jumps,
When she sees a balloon.

Oh! Only if you'd seen
The vigour with which,
She serves when she plays.
The happiness,
When she wins the match.
The contentment of,
Having played for hours.

Only if you'd seen
Her harrowing eyes,
After she'd read the entire night.
The dampness on her cheeks,
When Sirius died.
The fret lines on her forehead,
When Nineteen Eighty Four felt like 2019.

Oh! How I wish you'd seen it.
Oh! Only if you'd seen it.
But, Oh! How I tell you,
That you simply did not.
Because had you seen it,
Seen her laughing out of her wits,
At a lame joke.
Crying out her eyes,
While she dwells in her sorrows.
The pensive chin resting,
While penning this down.

You'd have known,
She's not just flesh and bones
And fancy clothes.
But blood and sweat
And a soul stirred,
She's not just beautiful,
But a lot more.
