Mitro Marjani, a text that plucked all the right cords!

There are few books that seem so familiar as if you have read them before, heard about them or probably lived in them.
They smell the way your house does, subtle yet evident, like the one you miss only when you come across smell of a new house.
They sound the way your door creaks, familiar and like something that provides you with a sense of belonging.
Their touch is like that of the knob of your cupboard, rigged and old yet your own.
Their sight is as common as your messed up bag, where you don't find a thing or two missing until unless you need that very thing.
There are few such books which seem to belong to you, books whom you seem to belong to.

#mitromarjani by #krishnasobti was one such text that struck such familiar cords in my mind and heart. That intimate colloquial style of conversations, those indigenous characters made more sense to me than any character has ever done. The set up, the backdrop all so acquainted as if a scene had been lifted off my drawing room. Probably this is what you call contextualizing a text!
